Helsinki port is the largest in Finland, and the second largest in the Nordic countries. The Port of Helsinki specializes in unitized cargo traffic,
but also has more than nine million passengers passing through the Port each year. Ferries connect the port to Estonia and Sweden, with frequent
sailings to both destinations. Most ferries depart from terminals at South Harbour which is located 2kms from the city centre o Helsinki.
Viking Lines Ferries depart to Sweden and Estonia, the ferry company operates two routes out of Helsinki ferry port. The Helsinki to Stockholm route stops
at Mariehamn en-route, reaching Stockholm after 16 hours. The Helsinki Mariehamn section takes 11 hours and sailings are onboard the Gabriella and
Mariella. This route is serviced once daily, with departures from Helsinki at 17:30, arriving in Stockholm 9:30 the following morning.
There are two round-trip sailings between Helsinki-Tallinn, one during the day and one night sailing. The journey is 3 hours long aboard the Rosella,
with one departure leaving Helsinki at 12:30 and the other at 21:00, arriving in Tallinn at 15:30 and 00:00 respectively.
During the summer, the company also operates a roundtrip cruise between Helsinki and Riga in Latvia.

There are good facilities at the port, with a number of shops available, as well as a cafe and a pleasant departure lounge.

ExpressBus is a consortium of 30 express bus companies that offer frequent links by bus to the Helsinki ferry port. Buses to Helsinki ferry port depart from

(Matkahuolto offices), from travel agencies and buses. Cash and world-wide used creditcards are accepted. Currency in Finland is Euro.
Getting to Helsinki Ferry port by Car
The main road to Helsinki from Turku is the E18. Vaasa is connected to Helsinki (another ferry point to northern Sweden) by the E12.
Rovaniemi in the north is on the E75.
